Your health insurance policy may cover you in full or in part for sessions in psychological therapies or counselling and many of our practitioners are registered with insurers including AXA, Aviva, BUPA, and CIGNA as well as some EU and US-based insurance companies.
What you need to do
If you are thinking of embarking on therapy funded using your health insurance, you first need to contact your insurance provider. They will be able to tell you if your policy covers you for this type of treatment, confirm if there is an excess that must be paid by you, and advise you what to do next. Each insurance provider has a different way of doing things so we are unable to guide you through their processes.
Booking your first session with us
Once your provider has given you an authorisation code and details of any requirements they may have, please do get in touch. We would be delighted to advise you on practitioner availability and get you booked in where possible for your first session.
What happens when there is an excess to pay?
Upon booking with us, and only when you have an excess to pay, you will be given the following options:
- Pay your full excess up front over the phone to our team.
- Pay for your first session up front over the phone to our team. The value of this session will be deducted from your excess total.
You will need to pay the remainder of your excess to your practitioner using any of our usual payment methods. They will inform you when the total excess has been paid in full by you. After this point, your practitioner will liaise with your insurance provider and invoice them directly for the remainder of your allowance.
