Zara is a compassionate and non-judgmental practitioner who aims to create a calm space where people can feel heard and supported. She works collaboratively with clients to help them manage distress and regain control over their lives. She is committed to culturally sensitive and inclusive practice.

Zara primarily works from a person-centred perspective, incorporating strategies from Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Informed Care and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) where suitable for a client's needs and preferences. She aims to work in an empathetic and supportive way with each person she sees, meeting them where they are at emotionally.
 

Zara's background and training

Zara has professional experience across a range of NHS mental health settings, including Primary Care Mental Health Services, NHS 24 and CAMHS. She has also held several volunteer roles, including work with the National Autistic Society and international placements supporting individuals experiencing mental health difficulties.

Zara holds an MSc in Clinical Health Psychology from the University of Strathclyde and an MSc in Psychological Therapy in Primary Care from the University of Dundee. She also holds a BSc in Psychology from Glasgow Caledonian University and a COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills from the University of Glasgow.

Zara is a full member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). She is also a registered member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
 

Zara's fee
