Andrew Benn is an applied psychology practitioner who works with individual adults with a wide range of issues and problems including: anxiety; depression/low mood; stress; abuse/neglect; anger/aggression; assertiveness; autism spectrum disorder; bereavement/grief; chronic illness; eating and body image issues; gender and sexual identity; loneliness; life transitions; relationship concerns; obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD); post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD); relaxation; self-harm; and many other issues.
 

Andrew's way of working

Andrew is an enthusiastic practitioner who is passionate about supporting people. He works in a holistic way and aims to build a strong therapeutic relationship with each client. He believes this is the key to the therapeutic process. Andrew offers counselling / psychotherapy; Person-Centred Therapy and Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and tailors his approach to meet the needs and preferences of each client. 
 

Andrew's background and training

Andrew has experience providing therapy to clients through two mental health and wellbeing charities. 

As well as his work for First Psychology, Andrew is also a specialist mentor who supports students across Scotland who are experiencing mental health concerns that may impact their studies.

Andrew has an MSc in Psychology from Middlesex University and a Graduate Certificate in Counselling Psychology from City, University of London. He is also currently in the final stages of a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology at Glasgow Caledonian University. In addition, Andrew has a BA(hons) in Popular Music and Recording from the University of Salford. 

Andrew is a Graduate member of The British Psychological Society (BPS). 
 

Andrew's fee
