Using your health insurance for counselling, psychotherapy or CBT at First Psychology Centre, Glasgow
It is now common to have a health insurance policy. Many of these can be used to fund sessions with our practitioners for counselling, psychotherapy or CBT at First Psychology Centre, Glasgow. The first step if you have a health insurance policy is to contact your insurance provider who can tell you if they will cover psychological work (often termed 'psychiatric benefit') and also what steps you will need to take if this is the case. Insurance companies have different procedures for authorising counselling, psychotherapy or CBT with a psychologist, counsellor / psychotherapist or CBT therapist. Some will ask you to get a referral from a GP or psychiatrist while others are happy to refer you to us themselves.
We have practitioners registered with a range of insurance companies including AXA PPP, Aviva, Standard Life, BUPA, CIGNA and WPA amongst others. We can also work with most EU and US-based insurance companies.
