Professor Ewan Gillon is a Counselling Psychologist and Clinical Director of First Psychology Centre, Glasgow. He is highly experienced and qualified in the areas of counselling / psychotherapy and psychology.
Ewan's qualifications as a practitioner
He is a Chartered and HPC Registered Psychologist and a Counsellor / Psychotherapist accredited with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. He has an MSc and PhD in Psychology, a PG Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy, a doctoral-level Diploma in Counselling Psychology, an Advanced Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), a Certificate in Psychological Coaching, a practitioner training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and a Certificate in Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT). He is a BPS approved occupational tester (levels A and B).
Ewan's memberships and affiliations
Ewan is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, a Chartered Scientist (psychology), a Panel Member (fitness to practice) and Visitor for the Health Professions Council (the government body that regulates all health professionals) and a General Member of the Mental Health Tribunal (Scotland). In addition to being Centre Director of the First Psychology Centre in Glasgow, he is a Professor at Glasgow Caledonian University and Co-Director of the D.Psych in Counselling Psychology run by Glasgow Caledonian and Strathclyde Universities.

Ewan is a published author in the field of psychology and counselling and has written for a range of publications including Therapy Today, Healthcare Psychotherapy and Counselling Journal, Person-centred and Experiential Psychotherapies and Counselling and Psychotherapy Research. His most recent book, Person-Centred Counselling Psychology was published by Sage in 2007.
