Advice
Clients often wonder whether the kind of 'problem' or 'issue' they are experiencing is the sort of thing counselling, psychotherapy, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) or coaching, can help with. Although every practitioner has his or her own particular area of expertise, all practitioners at First Psychology Centre, Glasgow are experienced in working with a wide range of problems and difficulties. These include: anger management, couples / relationship issues, anxiety / worrying a lot, stress, phobias, low mood / depression, eating and body difficulties, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), physical and emotional abuse, alcohol and substance dependency / difficulties, bereavement / loss / grief , sexuality, dealing with change / transition, sex addiction, mood swings, and physical health problems / chronic pain.
Although we have listed some of the common issues people wish to address in when coming for therapy or coaching this list is by no means exhaustive. Our psychologists, counsellors / psychotherapists, CBT therapists and coaches are very familiar with the ways in which people's experiences and difficulties differ and thus are able to work with the vast majority of concerns clients have. They are also able to advise what might be of help, and help you find what you need, if not.
